Fund Raising

Overview

Hotchkiss Home Plate obtains funding for our league through registration fees, sponsorship and fund raising. Even for a small community such as ours, the expenses for registration, insurance, uniforms, equipment, umpires, field maintenance and items that you may not at first consider such as porta potties and trash services are very high. If we attempted to pay for these costs strictly through registration fees, many of our existing players may not be able to play due to the increased cost.

Sponsors

Businesses and individuals sponsor our organization for different reasons. Some sponsors hope to increase traffic flow by being associated with Hotchkiss Home Plate, others are looking simply for goodwill and some sponsor just because they love baseball. Most sponsor for a combination of the ideas listed above. For our league to be successful it is important that our sponsors be recognized and supported. Please show support to our sponsors by frequenting their businesses and telling them thank you from time to time for sponsoring Hotchkiss Home Plate.

Fundraising

The four main sources of fund raising are the Bowl-A-Thon, yard sales, concessions, and All Star Games. Please see below for more information about how you can help.

Bowl-A-Thon

This activity is a terrific fundraiser and more importantly is fun for the kids. Contributions can be made on a per point basis or with a flat donation. Your coach should be sending home a Bowl-A-Thon pledge sheet at the beginning of the season, but if the pledge sheet was lost in the shuffle, please use the link above to get a copy. The 2010 Bowl-A-Thon is scheduled for April 24th at Valley Lane 5th Frame Bowling, 7530 Hwy 65 (Delta) at 11:00 am. Each participating child will bowl two games.

Yard Sale

The yard sale is scheduled for May 9th from 8:00 am to noon at the North Fork Bank. If you have items that you would like to donate to the yard sale or if you can help at the yard sale, please contact Amber Bayles - Fundraising Coordinator.

All Star Games

The league has made some money at All Star Games but mostly it is for fun. All Star Games allows players for all age groups to test their throwing, catching and hitting abilities. Participants can sign up for as few or as many events as they wish. The date and time for All Star Games is TBA.

Field Development

Please see the Field Development link for the challenges facing our players and coaches. If you have ideas regarding how to generate funds for additional ball fields, please contact Isaac Nolte – Director of Field Development or Amber Bayles, Fundraising Coordinator.
